Update 9-15-2018 1110hrs;
THE BIG STORY: Look through the eyewall and notice as it comes ashore PARTIALLY; but as soon as the eyewall is completely over land it collapses and the storm degrades! This is what would have happened if the storm had maintained the more southern path; but last minute the path changed to the northern path!

PHILIPPINES weather on Luzon continues with typhoon Mangkhut in the north. The typhoon eyewall just made it across the island. Expect the rest of the storm to take another 5 to 10 hours at least, perhaps the rest of the day to make it away from the island. Because it will slow down again as it returns to sea.
